The Project
In a country like Nicaragua it is highly important, to educate young people in a branch with international future.
25 young people (7-16 years) receive digital cameras to document their lives with for some weeks. They report their every day live: what they like, what annoys them, what they are fond of and what they dislike at all. They will document their family lives, their sparetime, their friends... whatever they think is worth telling.
Thus we would like to let them achieve a basic knowledge, which they can use outside the project, too. „This way they shall be enabled to gain a foothold in a future orientated profession, later".
A Group of native photographers and journalists will care of the children during the whole time of the project and teach them basic knowledge about handling camera and computer. Furthermore the pupils will gain insights in journalism, graphics design, video cutting and webdesign.
Each week between January, 9th and April, 2nd there will be published new reports of the children on ninoVISTA.com. The Topic of the current week will be presented on the front page and afterwards moved to the respective archive category.
Also, the photo of the week will be shown on the front page. (1st to 3rd place will be exposed in the casa and in summer 2009 at an exhibition in Austria.)
Headquarter is the „Casa de los Tres Mundos" where all necessary infra structure can be provided, as there has been worked on art project with children and young people since many years.
The teams assemble through all different social levels and thus will show a multi-faceted image of live in Nicaragua. The result will be a widespread, colorful, nonpolitical portrait about the country.
Start of Project
ninoVISTA starts in December 2008 and spans a period of 3-4 month for the beginning.
